Sam is a Consultant within Deloitte’s Cyber Risk practice in Toronto, Canada. He works with the Application Security and Cybersecurity Strategy teams. His current project focuses on user/privileged user data security policies and access controls in Oracle Cloud. Past assignments at Deloitte have included ISO 270001 and NIST Maturity Assessments, where he assisted teams advising on various security controls across enterprises. Previous cybersecurity roles have included work terms with the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., where he mainly focused on 5G security challenges, software supply chain integrity and federal IT and cloud procurement efforts. He has published cybersecurity and technology related papers and articles with the Canadian Global Affairs Institute (CGAI), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Tel Aviv University’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), Real Clear Defense, Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) and SIGNAL Magazine. Sam completed a Certificate in Cybersecurity Strategy at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and a Master of Science in Defense and Strategic Studies focusing on cybersecurity at Missouri State University’s D.C. Graduate Campus. His thesis focused on ICS and SCADA security challenges across critical infrastructure in Canada.
